"30 wonderful years – Open Air 2026" SPORTFREUNDE STILLER & great guests RÜDE How do you look back on thirty years of band history? From a distance, it looks like the view of a vast jungle of deep life. Behind almost every day of the tour are funny experiences, joyful hugs, the best celebrations, and ever-growing stories that take root deeper and deeper over the years. FLO It all started with the "Wunderbare Jahre" (Wonderful Years). And with the idea of bringing three not entirely similar musical preferences together in a band context. From the first count-in in the spartan rehearsal room in 1996, Jack Kerouac, Big Muff distortion, some kind of Germering school form, and definitely the idea of enormous volume haunted our minds. Twenty-seven minutes later, the "Wunderbaren Jahren" were born, and with them the knowledge that, no matter what else might come musically, this was a brash manifesto of our adolescent existence. It became the motto of our lives. And on top of that, there was still a lot to come... PETER It's 1996... a guy with a Britpop haircut asks a guy in a grunge raincoat, "Hey, you make music too, right? Let's do something together! Wanna?" That's more or less how the story of the 3 Sportfreunde began. In the 29 years that followed, we experienced pretty much everything a band can experience: meteoric non-rise, slightly tense failure, pop-like chart entries, magical encounters, rock moments for eternity, world-class million-strong choirs, gigantic crisis overcoming, gilded adoration. And songs as friends and friends as eternal companions to our songs. It's 2026. So now we're celebrating Sportfreunde's 30th anniversary. Will you join us as we rush through 30 wonderful years?
